The Fleet Officer is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the company\'s vehicles and drivers to ensure that the fleet is safe, roadworthy, properly maintained, and available for operations. The role also involves monitoring vehicle movements, maintenance, fuel usage, documentation, and driver compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor the daily activities and movement of company vehicles and drivers.
Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, serviced, and available for operations.
Schedule and follow up on preventive maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
Monitor vehicle faults and ensure repairs are promptly addressed.
Track fuel consumption and investigate unusual or excessive usage.
Maintain accurate records of vehicles, maintenance, repairs, fuel, mileage, and related expenses.
Monitor drivers\' compliance with company policies, speed limits, safety procedures, and operational instructions.
Track vehicle trips, breakdowns, accidents, delays, and other fleet-related incidents.
Report vehicle breakdowns, accidents, damages, and other incidents to management promptly.
Maintain an updated fleet database and provide regular fleet reports to management.
Embark on rescue operations and vehicle recovery when required.
Monitor driver availability and ensure fleet performance targets are achieved.
Requirements
Education: OND/HND/Bachelor\'s degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2 - 4 years of experience in fleet management, transport operations, logistics, or a related role.
Good knowledge of vehicle maintenance and fleet operations.
Good knowledge of road safety and traffic regulations.
Strong record-keeping and reporting skills.
Good communication and coordination skills.
Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to operational issues.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic office applications.
