Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic NYSC Corp Member to join our Finance Department as a Finance Intern.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Finance and Accounts team to support day-to-day financial and administrative activities.
This opportunity is designed for a graduate who is interested in developing practical experience in accounting, financial operations, reporting, documentation, and general finance administration.
The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong numerical ability, attention to detail, willingness to learn, integrity, and the ability to handle confidential financial information responsibly.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will receive guidance and supervision while supporting the Finance team with the following activities:
Assist the Finance team with basic day-to-day administrative and financial tasks.
Support the organization and filing of invoices, receipts, payment documents, and other financial records.
Assist in entering and updating financial information on Excel spreadsheets and other approved systems.
Help maintain accurate and organized records of financial transactions.
Assist with preparing simple reports, summaries, and spreadsheets under the supervision of the Finance team.
Support the Finance team in sorting and reviewing financial documents to ensure they are properly documented.
Assist with tracking invoices, expenses, payments, and outstanding documentation.
Help collect and organize documents required for financial transactions and internal processes.
Support basic data verification by comparing information across invoices, receipts, spreadsheets, and other documents.
Assist with simple calculations and Excel-based financial tasks as assigned.
Support the Finance team with scanning, printing, uploading, and properly storing financial documents.
Assist with retrieving financial records and documents when required by the Finance team.
Observe and learn basic accounting and financial processes within the organization.
Participate in training and learning activities designed to develop practical finance and accounting skills.
Ask questions, seek clarification, and work closely with assigned supervisors to complete tasks accurately.
Maintain confidentiality when handling company, employee, client, and financial information.
Carry out other basic finance-related duties assigned by the Finance Manager or designated supervisor.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
Must be a prospective or serving NYSC Corp Member eligible for deployment or currently undergoing NYSC service.
Basic understanding of accounting and financial principles.
Good numerical and analytical skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to organize documents and manage multiple tasks.
Strong willingness to learn and develop professionally
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
