Main Function

  • The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for the overall cleanliness, hygiene, and aesthetic upkeep of all guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, ensuring the hotel consistently meets superior luxury housekeeping standards.

Role Responsibilities

Departmental Leadership:

  • Develop and enforce housekeeping SOPs across rooms, public areas, and laundry.
  • Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise the housekeeping team.
  • Conduct performance appraisals and identify training needs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, cleanliness, and service excellence.

Operations & Quality Control:

  • Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, corridors, public areas, and back-of-house.
  • Coordinate VIP and long-stay guest room preparation with Front Office.
  • Manage lost and found procedures.
  • Liaise with Engineering on maintenance issues identified during inspections.
  • Implement pest control and sanitation programmes.

Inventory & Budget Management:

  • Manage inventory of linen, amenities, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
  • Prepare and control the housekeeping department budget.
  • Negotiate with and monitor performance of outsourced laundry/cleaning vendors, where applicable.
  • Drive sustainability initiatives (water, energy, and chemical use).

Qualifications and Requirements

Education:

  • Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or a related field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 7 years' housekeeping experience, including at least 3 years as Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper in a luxury hotel.
