The successful candidate will teach English Language and Literature in the Junior/ Senior Secondary sections, promote a love for reading, writing and critical thinking, and contribute to the overall academic and moral development of students.
Key Responsibilities
Teach English Language and Literature across JSS 1 - SSS 3 in line with the Nigerian and WAEC/NECO curriculum
Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that develop speaking, listening, reading and writing skills
Set, mark and analyze tests, assignments, and examinations
Prepare students for WAEC, NECO, and internal assessments
Organize literary activities: debate, drama, reading clubs, essay competitions
Maintain accurate academic records and provide timely reports to parents
Mentor students and uphold the school's Christian values and discipline standards
Collaborate with other English department staff on curriculum and resources
Requirements
Minimum of B.Ed / B.A in English Language, English Literature, or related field
TRCN certification is an added advantage
Minimum 3 years teaching experience in a secondary school setting
Proven track record of preparing students for WAEC/NECO with good results
Excellent command of spoken and written English
Competence in ICT for teaching and record keeping
Must be a committed Christian and able to work in both boarding and day school environment
Strong interpersonal, communication and classroom management skills
