Elektron Renewables Limited (ERL) is expanding its team and is looking for an Engineering Associate to support the development and delivery of renewable energy projects across Nigeria and selected African markets.
This is an opportunity for an engineer with hands-on renewable energy experience to work across project feasibility, system design, technical analysis, engineering review and project execution, while taking increasing ownership of defined technical responsibilities.
What you'll be doing:
Design and technically assess renewable energy systems from feasibility through detailed design.
Carry out system sizing, technology selection and equipment configuration.
Develop technical proposals and engineering solutions for renewable energy projects.
Conduct system simulations and performance analysis using PVsyst and HOMER.
Prepare and review engineering drawings, specifications, SLDs, layouts, BOQs/BEMEs and other technical documentation.
Provide technical inputs to project pricing and procurement activities.
Support site assessments, project development, implementation and commissioning.
Work with EPC partners, OEMs and other technical stakeholders to validate technical requirements and information.
Identify technical risks, design gaps and opportunities for system optimisation.
Work closely with project, business development, finance and technical teams to translate project requirements into technically sound and commercially practical solutions.
What we're looking for:
A first degree in Engineering or a related field.
At least 3 years' relevant experience in renewable energy, preferably in solar C&I, distributed energy, mini-grids, BESS or related power projects.
Demonstrated experience in renewable energy system design, sizing and technical analysis.
Experience developing technical proposals and system configurations.
Practical experience with PVsyst and HOMER.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel.
Ability to interpret, review and technically validate engineering drawings and specifications.
Strong engineering fundamentals and a sound understanding of renewable energy systems.
