Position Overview

We are seeking an engaging and analytical Economics Teacher to help students understand microeconomic and macroeconomic principles, global markets, and personal finance. The ideal candidate will bring real-world economic concepts to life, helping students critically analyze market trends, fiscal policy, and financial systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver curriculum covering microeconomics, macroeconomics, market structures, trade, and economic policy.
  • Integrate current events, global market trends, and real-world case studies into classroom discussions.
  • Teach students how to interpret economic data, supply and demand graphs, and quantitative models.
  • Assess student progress through exams, analytical essays, research projects, and case study evaluations.
  • Promote critical thinking around fiscal/monetary policies, economic ethics, and personal financial literacy.
  • Collaborate with the social studies department and keep parents and school leaders informed of student performance.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Social Science Education, Finance, or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • Licensure: Valid state or national teaching credential for secondary social studies, business education, or economics.
  • Experience: 2+ years of teaching secondary or high school economics preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with educational technology, economic simulation tools, and quantitative graphing software.
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical ability, strong communication skills, dynamic presentation style, and effective classroom management.
