The Dispatch & Logistics Officer is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the timely, safe, and efficient movement of Day-Old Chicks (DOC), poultry products, and other company consignments from Amo Farm to customers and designated locations.
The role will ensure effective dispatch planning, vehicle coordination, delivery tracking, proper documentation, and timely resolution of logistics challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate daily dispatch activities based on confirmed customer orders and delivery schedules.
Coordinate the movement and delivery of DOC and other company consignments to customers and designated locations.
Verify quantities, documentation, packaging, and readiness of consignments before dispatch.
Coordinate drivers, vehicles, routes, and delivery schedules to ensure efficient transportation.
Monitor deliveries from dispatch to final destination and provide timely updates on delivery status.
Track and escalate delays, vehicle breakdowns, route challenges, delivery discrepancies, and other logistics issues.
Liaise with Sales, Hatchery, Warehouse, Finance, and other relevant teams to ensure smooth order fulfilment.
Maintain accurate dispatch records, delivery notes, waybills, proof of delivery, and other logistics documentation.
Follow up with customers and sales personnel on delivery schedules, confirmations, and outstanding issues.
Monitor logistics costs, fuel usage, vehicle utilisation, and route efficiency and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
Ensure that DOC and other consignments are transported in line with approved safety, handling, and animal welfare requirements.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly dispatch and logistics reports.
Identify gaps in the dispatch process and recommend improvements.
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by Management.

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in logistics, dispatch, transportation, distribution, or operations.
Experience in poultry, agriculture, FMCG, manufacturing, or a similar industry is an advantage.
Experience with DOC or live-bird transportation will be an added advantage.
