We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Cost Accountant to manage product costing, food costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and operational cost control across our QSR and bakery operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor food, production, and operational costs to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Prepare standard costing and conduct periodic product re-costing.
  • Analyze production variances, wastage, and yield performance.
  • Reconcile inventory records and investigate stock variances.
  • Prepare and present cost reports to support management decision-making.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning activities.
  • Review vendor pricing and evaluate cost implications.
  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost records within the ERP system.
  • Identify and implement cost optimization initiatives.
  • Support month-end and year-end cost accounting and reporting processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience in a QSR, FMCG, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Job Summary Mshel Homes Limited seeks a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to provide accurate cost analysis, financial control, and contract cost reporting across the company's real estate development and construction projects. Key Responsibilities Monitor and track all costs associated with construction and real estate contracts, ensuring expenditures remain within approved budgets. Review and validate contractor and subcontractor invoices, progress claims, and payment certificates against contract schedules and work done. Prepare and maintain contract cost schedules, cash flow projections, and cost-to-complete estimates for all active development projects. Demonstrable experience in reviewing BOQs, contract valuations, and contractor payment certifications. Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software; familiarity with Nigerian tax regulations (WHT, VAT) applicable to construction contracts.
