Job Summary

  • The Controlling Officer will be responsible for monitoring and coordinating all security operations from the control room, including tracking patrol movements, managing radio/communication systems, responding to incidents in real time, and ensuring that all guards, drivers, and supervisors are properly deployed and accounted for at all times.
  • The ideal candidate must be alert, decisive under pressure, and able to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor CCTV feeds, GPS/vehicle tracking systems, and communication channels to oversee real-time security operations.
  • Maintain constant radio contact with patrol teams, guards, and supervisors on the ground.
  • Log and respond promptly to incidents, alarms, and distress calls, escalating to management or emergency services as required.
  • Coordinate deployment and movement of patrol vehicles and personnel across assigned locations.
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, incident reports, and attendance records for field staff.
  • Ensure all posts and client locations are covered according to schedule; flag and resolve staffing gaps immediately.
  • Liaise with clients, supervisors, and management to relay urgent updates or operational changes.
  • Liaise with the operation department to go for patrol.
  • Call and Receive information from each locations.
  • Conduct routine checks/call-outs to confirm guards are alert and stationed correctly.
  • Prepare and submit shift handover reports and daily operational summaries.
  • Support investigations into incidents, breaches, or complaints by providing accurate control room records.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by supervisors or management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of OND / HND / B.Sc.Degree in any discipline; a background in security studies, criminology, or a related field is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a control room, dispatch, or security operations role (mandatory).
  • Prior experience in the private security industry is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with clear radio/phone etiquette.
  • Calm, decisive, and able to manage high-pressure or emergency situations effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CCTV/GPS tracking or monitoring software.
  • High level of integrity, discretion, and attentiveness.

Conduct daily reviews of income and balance sheet accounts and escalate discrepancies where necessary. Ensure accurate and timely posting of financial transactions. Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Unit Head. Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is an added advantage. 3 - 5 years of relevant experience in financial control, accounting, audit, or a related role, preferably within the banking or financial services sector. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, bank reconciliation, management accounts, regulatory returns, and financial controls. Good understanding of CBN regulatory reporting requirements and applicable financial regulations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/financial management systems. Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and integrity. Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables effectively. Strong communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to work independently while providing effective supervisory support to the FinCon Unit.
