As the Community & Business Development Manager, you will drive community-led user acquisition, strategic partnerships, and community activation initiatives across Nigeria.
Responsibilities
Build, manage, and scale WhatsApp, Telegram, creator, ambassador, campus, student, and diaspora communities while developing engagement programmes that drive activation, referrals, retention, and advocacy.
Design and execute grassroots acquisition campaigns across campuses, creator networks, referral programmes, and technology communities, including recruiting and managing ambassador programmes across major Nigerian universities.
Plan and coordinate online and offline community events, activations, educational sessions, webinars, live sessions, and broadcasts, while gathering and communicating user feedback to Growth, Product, and Operations teams.
Identify, negotiate, and close strategic distribution, affiliate, and referral partnerships across travel agencies, visa/relocation providers, remote-work platforms, creator communities, professional associations, co-working hubs, technology accelerators, fintech, and digital-service ecosystems.
Develop partnership playbooks and activation plans, manage partner onboarding and relationships, and ensure partnerships deliver measurable user acquisition, funded accounts, and transaction outcomes.
Manage creator and influencer acquisition pipelines, campaigns, livestreams, community events, and partnership workflows while monitoring performance and optimising for conversion.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
3 - 5+ years of experience in community growth, business development, partnerships, field marketing, growth operations, or a related role.
Proven experience growing WhatsApp, Telegram, and community-led acquisition channels, with a track record of converting communities into active users.
Demonstrated success in negotiating and closing partnerships that generated measurable business results, preferably within Fintech, Payments, Web3, Consumer Technology, Marketplaces, or high-growth startups.
Strong analytical and performance-driven mindset with proficiency in CRM systems, spreadsheets, reporting tools, and community management platforms.
Existing networks across Nigerian universities, technology and creator communities, startup ecosystems, travel/relocation sectors, and professional associations will be a strong advantage.
Experience launching ambassador programmes, managing creator/influencer campaigns, or working with payments, remittance, neobanks, or financial services products is preferred.
Good understanding of grassroots acquisition, community-led growth, referral programmes, acquisition economics, and growth loops in the Nigerian market.
