We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly organised Chief Matron to provide effective leadership and supervision of nursing and caregiving services within our organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of patient care, supervising nursing staff, coordinating daily ward activities, and ensuring compliance with professional, clinical, and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strong leadership and direction to nursing and support staff.
Supervise, coordinate, and evaluate the performance of nursing personnel.
Ensure the delivery of safe, compassionate, and high-quality patient care.
Develop and maintain nursing policies, procedures, and standards.
Coordinate staff schedules, duty rosters, leave arrangements, and shift coverage.
Monitor patient care, hygiene, infection prevention, and overall ward standards.
Ensure accurate and timely completion of nursing records and reports.
Mentor, train, and support nursing staff to promote professional development.
Liaise effectively with doctors, hospital management, patients, relatives, and other healthcare professionals.
Monitor the availability and appropriate use of medical supplies and equipment.
Handle patient and staff concerns professionally and promptly.
Ensure compliance with relevant healthcare regulations and professional standards.
Participate in quality improvement, audits, inspections, and other organisational initiatives.
Perform any other duties reasonably assigned by management.
Requirements
Registered Nurse/Midwife with a recognised nursing qualification.
Current professional registration and licence to practise.
Minimum of 10 years' relevant nursing experience, with significant supervisory or management experience.
Previous experience as a Matron, Senior Nurse, Nursing Manager, or similar leadership role is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of nursing procedures, patient care standards, and infection prevention practices.
Excellent leadership, communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
Ability to manage staff effectively and work under pressure.
Demonstrated commitment to patient safety, dignity, confidentiality, and quality care.
