Job Summary

  • The Teacher of Chemistry will plan, prepare and deliver instruction to students in accordance with the Nigerian National Policy on Education and regulations of AJC.
  • The teacher will cover effectively and efficiently every item in the scheme of work in use in the school while also teaching the students all they need to know in everyday life in relation to Chemistry.
  • Over and above all, every teacher in AJCis a role model to the students.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • B.Ed in Chemistry or its equivalent is required.
  • Any higher degree or qualification, especially in the field of Chemistry, is an advantage.
  • TRCN is required.

Experience:

  • At least 2 years teaching experience in a similar role.
  • Any other experience relating to Chemistry is an advantage.

Personal Qualities:

  • Effective communication and presentation skills, good command of English Language, good understanding of adolescent psychology, good interpersonal skills, a team player, ability to work effectively with minimum supervision, proficiency in use of Office Suites like Microsoft Word and Power Point.

Maintain accurate online/offline academic and attendance records for students, provide constructive feedback during PTA meetings and Parent open days, and offer remedial help to diverse learners. Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching, learning, and the overall student experience. Incorporate real-world engineering and technology concepts into chemistry lessons to show students the practical applications of topics. Qualifications & Experience Education: B.Sc.Ed / B.Ed in Chemistry, OR a B.Sc. / B.Eng in Pure/Industrial Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE). Certification: Registration with the TRCN is a strong advantage. Experience: Minimum of 4 years of active SSS classroom teaching with a proven track record of excellent WAEC/NECO results. Added Advantages: Being an active WAEC/NECO examiner or having experience teaching the British Curriculum.
