Job Summary
We are seeking experienced and highly skilled Cardiac ICU Nurses to provide specialized critical care to patients before and after cardiac surgery and other complex cardiovascular procedures.
The successful candidates will provide continuous monitoring, advanced nursing interventions, medication management, and coordinated multidisciplinary care for critically ill cardiac patients in line with international standards and evidence-based practice.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill cardiac patients in the Cardiac ICU.
Continuously monitor and assess cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and haemodynamic status.
Care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation, invasive monitoring, and advanced life-support interventions.
Safely administer medications, vasoactive agents, anticoagulants, and other prescribed therapies.
Monitor and manage postoperative cardiac surgery patients requiring ventilatory and haemodynamic support.
Recognize and respond promptly to clinical deterioration and cardiac emergencies.
Assist with emergency resuscitation and advanced life-support interventions.
Monitor drains, lines, catheters, wounds, and other postoperative devices.
Maintain accurate and timely nursing and clinical documentation.
Provide patient and family education and emotional support.
Collaborate with cardiac surgeons, anaesthetists, intensivists, perfusionists, and other multidisciplinary team members.
Maintain strict infection prevention and control practices.
Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, staff training, and accreditation readiness.
Support the implementation of ICU protocols, clinical pathways, and patient safety initiatives.
Requirements
BNSc, RN, or equivalent recognized nursing qualification.
Valid nursing registration and practising licence.
Minimum 3 years of ICU/Critical Care Nursing experience, with Cardiac ICU experience highly desirable.
Experience caring for postoperative cardiac surgery patients is strongly preferred.
Competence in advanced patient monitoring, mechanical ventilation, haemodynamic monitoring, and emergency response.
Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Strong clinical assessment, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment.
Strong commitment to patient safety and evidence-based nursing practice.
