Job Purpose

  • The Business Transformation & Strategy Officer supports the implementation of the overall vision, mission and strategic priorities of The Concept Group.
  • The role is responsible for conceptualizing and formulating strategic initiatives that further these priorities and ensuring that day to day project activities remain aligned with them.
  • The role acts as a direct support function to the Lead, Transformation across the full project lifecycle, from initiation through closure.

Key Responsibilities

Project Initiation:

  • Support the development of Business Case and Game Plan reports for proposed transformation initiatives.
  • Conduct Gap Analysis and, where required, Root Cause Analysis to define problem statements and propose remedial strategies.
  • Contribute to Feasibility Studies to assess whether proposed initiatives will resolve identified gaps.
  • Assist in the preparation of Project Initiation Documents (Project Charters), including business case, SMART goals, scope, stakeholder and RACI matrices, and risk registers.

Project Planning:

Project Management

  • Prepare Preliminary Management Briefs summarizing scope, quality, time, cost and risk considerations for Management approval.
  • Contribute to Annual Budgeting exercises for the Transformation Department's project portfolio.
  • Draft or contribute to User Requirement Documents and Business Requirement Documents in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Maintain and update the Implementation Tracker (Work Breakdown Structure) on a weekly basis for assigned projects.
  • Support Vendor Scoping, Scoring and Selection exercises, including demo coordination, weighted scoring against requirement checklists, Cost Benefit Analysis, and preparation of Vendor Scoring Reports.
  • Liaise with the Legal Department on Service Level Agreement review and track agreements through to execution.
  • Participate in Agile Meetings to help set milestones, KPIs and progress checkpoints.

Project Execution and Monitoring:

  • Support coordination of stakeholders, resources and cross functional dependencies during project execution.
  • Track and report on project progress across Information, Process, Technology, People and Performance Management workstreams.
  • Assist in setting SMART user KPIs and monitoring process performance for active initiatives.

Project Closure:

  • Contribute to Post Completion reports, capturing project results, stakeholder feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Reporting:

  • Provide the Lead, Transformation with timely updates on assigned initiatives, escalating risks or blockers as needed.
  • Prepare materials for Management and Steering Committee presentations as directed.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, or a related field
  • 2 to 4 years experience in business analysis, project coordination, or strategy roles, preferably within financial services or a similarly regulated environment
  • Working knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile preferred)
  • Familiarity with vendor evaluation and contract negotiation processes is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and problem structuring ability
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
  • Clear written and verbal communication for stakeholder facing documentation
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams with attention to deadlines
  • Sound judgment in escalating risks without waiting to be prompted.
