We are seeking an experienced Business Strategy & Financial Forecasting Consultant on a contractual basis to evaluate a proposed new business venture and provide an objective assessment of its commercial viability.
The primary objective of this engagement is to help the Founder/Management determine whether the proposed business is financially and commercially viable, worth pursuing, and capable of becoming a sustainable and profitable venture.
The consultant will be expected to critically assess the opportunity, develop relevant financial and business projections, identify potential risks and challenges, and provide a clear recommendation based on the findings.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct a comprehensive assessment of the proposed business opportunity, market and business model.
Develop financial forecasts, projections and appropriate financial models.
Assess the potential revenue, costs, margins, profitability and cash-flow requirements of the business.
Develop break-even and scenario analyses, including best-case, expected-case and worst-case scenarios.
Evaluate the assumptions behind the proposed business model and identify key financial and commercial risks.
Assess pricing, operating costs, distribution and other key factors that will impact profitability.
Evaluate the scalability and long-term sustainability of the business.
Identify potential challenges, gaps or areas that may require modification before launch.
Provide practical recommendations to Management based on the analysis.
Ultimately provide a clear, objective assessment of whether the business should proceed, be modified, or not be pursued.

Ideal Candidate
Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree
Proven experience in business strategy, financial forecasting, investment analysis, feasibility studies, business consulting or corporate finance.
Strong financial modelling and Excel/Google Sheets skills.
Experience evaluating new business opportunities or developing business cases.
Strong understanding of revenue modelling, costing, pricing, margins, cash flow and profitability.
Ability to critically assess a business idea rather than simply validate it.
Strong analytical and commercial judgement.
Ability to turn financial and market analysis into clear, practical recommendations.
Experience working with startups, consumer businesses, manufacturing, retail, e-commerce or similar businesses is an advantage.
Excellent report-writing and presentation skills.
Engagement:
This is a contractual consultancy engagement with a defined scope and deliverables.
The successful consultant will work closely with the Founder/Management and is expected to provide an independent, objective and evidence-based assessment that will support the final decision on whether to proceed with the proposed venture.
