About the Role

  • We are currently recruiting for an organized and detail-oriented Branch Accountant to join our team.
  • In this role, you will be the guardian of financial integrity at the branch level.
  • You will be responsible for driving all accounting functions, ensuring strict adherence to company policies, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and issue daily floats to cashiers; ensure the safe handling and timely bank lodgment of all cash.
  • Reconcile cash and POS transactions daily, balancing tills and investigating any discrepancies.
  • Vet and verify invoices for accuracy prior to posting on the ERP system.
  • Respond to and resolve POS disputes from customers efficiently.
  • Prepare monthly shortage reports and write off transferred stock between departments.
  • Ensure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to; perform bank reconciliations to keep records accurate.
  • Post branch revenue and transactions into the appropriate journals on the ERP system.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of B.Sc./ HND in Accountancy or related
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in similar role
  • Must have NYSC Discharged, Exemption or Exclusion letter
  • ICAN Certification is an added advantage
  • Proven experience in accounting or cash management role.
  • Strong understanding of reconciliation processes and internal controls.
  • Proficiency in using ERP software is highly desirable.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle cash securely and responsibly.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills regarding POS and transactional disputes.
