Associate Civil Engineer At Independent Project Monitoring Company Limited (ipmc)

Role Overview

• The Associate Civil Engineer supports civil and structural engineering design, technical assurance, structural integrity, compliance with standards and efficient project delivery.
• The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and has hands-on experience in structural design, piling and execution of deep foundation works.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design

• Assist in the design and analysis of foundations including pile foundations (bored piles, driven piles, CFA piles, raft foundations, etc.)
• Interpret geotechnical investigation reports and recommend suitable foundation systems
• Prepare engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports
• Review structural designs to ensure compatibility with foundation systems

Site Supervision & Execution

• Supervise piling and foundation works on-site to ensure adherence to specifications
• Monitor pile installation processes, including load testing and integrity testing
• Coordinate with contractors, geotechnical engineers, and project teams
• Ensure quality control and compliance with safety and engineering standards

Project Coordination

• Assist in project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation for civil, structural engineering and foundation works
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and track project progress and prepare site reports
• Identify and resolve technical issues during execution

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure all works comply with local regulations, codes, and international standards
• Maintain documentation for inspections, approvals, and audits
• Implement HSE policies during site operations

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC experience in civil engineering
• Professional engineering registration NSE, COREN is compulsory.
• Proven experience in piling and foundation engineering projects

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of soil mechanics and geotechnical principles
• Familiarity with foundation design software (e.g., PLAXIS, SAFE, ETABS, or similar)
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering tools
• Understanding of pile load testing and interpretation
