Support the Production Manager in supervising daily factory production activities.
Monitor production activities across carpentry, upholstery, finishing and other production units.
Ensure artisans and production staff work according to approved drawings, measurements, specifications and production instructions.
Supervise assigned production projects from commencement through completion.
Monitor workmanship at each production stage and identify defects or deviations early.
Carry out in-process quality checks and ensure identified defects are corrected before work progresses to the next stage.
Support the Production Manager in implementing production plans and daily work schedules.
Monitor production staff performance, productivity and adherence to assigned tasks.
Ensure production materials are properly used and minimise avoidable waste.
Assist with checking measurements, dimensions, materials and production specifications before and during production.
Support the Production Manager in preparing and verifying production information required for Bills of Materials.
Maintain accurate production records, inspection records and project documentation.
Report production challenges, workmanship issues, material shortages and other risks promptly.
Coordinate with the Project Manager regarding progress on assigned production activities.
Ensure completed items are properly prepared for final quality inspection and approval.
Maintain discipline, orderliness, safety and good working practices on the factory floor.
Stand in for the Production Manager when required and ensure continuity of production activities.
Learn and understand the company's production processes, standards and operational systems across all furniture categories.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or HND in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Wood Technology, Furniture Design, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management or a related field.
Minimum of 2 - 4 years' relevant experience in furniture production, manufacturing, carpentry, joinery, interior production or a similar production environment.
Practical understanding of furniture production processes is strongly preferred.
Ability to read and interpret production drawings, measurements and specifications.
Strong supervisory and people-management skills.
Strong attention to detail and workmanship.
Ability to identify production defects and recommend corrective action.
Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple production activities.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and digital work-management tools.
Willingness to work primarily from the factory floor and take ownership of production activities.
