Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
Support the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity requirements to ensure operational efficiency.
Prepare and review bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger reconciliations.
Analyze financial performance and prepare management reports with actionable recommendations.
Ensure compliance with Nigerian tax laws and statutory reporting requirements, including VAT, WHT, PAYE, Company Income Tax, and other regulatory filings.
Coordinate and support internal and external audit processes, ensuring timely resolution of audit findings.
Develop, implement, and maintain sound internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
Monitor operating expenses and identify opportunities for cost optimization and improved financial performance.
Support treasury management activities, including banking relationships, payments, and cash management.
Supervise finance team members, providing guidance, coaching, and performance support.
Liaise with auditors, financial institutions, regulatory agencies, and other external stakeholders.
Ensure accurate fixed asset accounting, inventory accounting, and financial record maintenance.
Support ERP implementation, financial systems enhancement, and process improvement initiatives.
Prepare financial models and business analyses to support management decision-making.
Ensure timely month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
Perform any other finance-related duties assigned by management.
Key Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
ACA, ACCA, or an equivalent professional qualification (Mandatory).
8 - 10 years of finance and accounting experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
Experience in the Oil & Gas, Energy, Manufacturing, or FMCG sector is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of IFRS, taxation, financial reporting, budgeting, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
