The Assistant Accountant will support the Finance & Accounts team in maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring proper documentation of the company's financial activities.
The role requires a highly organized, detail-oriented, and trustworthy individual with a good understanding of accounting principles.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records.
Record and process daily financial transactions, including receipts, payments, expenses, and invoices.
Assist with preparation and processing of invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, and other financial documents.
Monitor and reconcile bank statements and company accounts.
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and account schedules.
Support the preparation of budgets, cash flow statements, and financial forecasts.
Track accounts payable and receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
Assist with payroll preparation and other staff-related financial transactions when required.
Ensure all financial transactions are properly authorized and supported with relevant documentation.
Assist with audits by providing requested financial records and supporting documents.
Monitor expenses and ensure compliance with approved budgets and company policies.
Assist in tracking property sales, client payments, commissions, and other real estate-related transactions.
Liaise with banks, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders when required.
Maintain confidentiality of financial and company information.
Perform other accounting duties as assigned by the Accountant or Head of Finance.

Qualifications & Requirements
B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1 - 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
ICAN/ACCA certification or relevant professional qualification is an added advantage.
Good knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Strong numerical and analytical skills.
