The AHU Supervisor leads and manages the operation, maintenance, and compliance of Air Handling Units (AHUs), HVAC systems, ducting networks, and filtration systems at the Sagar manufacturing plant in Sagamu.
This role ensures uninterrupted air quality, precise pressure cascades, temperature control, and relative humidity across cleanrooms, production floors, laboratories, and warehouses in strict adherence to pharmaceutical cGMP standards and company HSE guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Team Supervision & Operations: Lead and delegate daily maintenance tasks to AHU Operators and Technicians; manage shift rosters to guarantee continuous, 24/7 HVAC support for production.
System Compliance & Environmental Controls: Oversee differential pressure cascades, HEPA filtration efficiency, airflow velocity, and relative humidity across controlled environments to meet cGMP, WHO, and regulatory guidelines.
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Plan, schedule, and direct Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) for AHUs, chillers, blowers, cooling coils, dampers, and electrical control panels to minimize equipment downtime.
Filter Management & Integrity Testing: Supervise the cleaning, washing, replacement, and qualification testing (e.g., DOP/PAO leak tests) of pre-filters, medium filters, and HEPA filters across all production lines.
Troubleshooting & Technical Leadership: Serve as the first escalation point for complex technical faults involving compressors, expansion valves, duct leaks, and motor/drive failures.
Documentation & Audit Readiness: Maintain up-to-date engineering logbooks, qualification records (IQ/OQ/PQ), Equipment History Cards, and SOP compliance documentation for internal and regulatory audits.
Safety & EHS Compliance: Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) protocols, safe refrigerant handling procedures, and PPE usage among utility personnel.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: B.Sc., HND, or Higher Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Refrigeration & Air Conditioning.
Experience: 5+ years of practical HVAC/AHU maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team-lead role within a pharmaceutical manufacturing, food processing, or cleanroom facility.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of psychrometrics, cleanroom classification, HVAC control panels, automated Building Management Systems (BMS), and refrigeration cycles.
Core Skills: Equipment qualification experience, technical report writing, fault diagnosis, and team leadership.
