We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Account Officer to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, monitoring expenses, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring proper financial controls across the organisation.
The ideal candidate should have strong numerical and analytical abilities, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced interior design and furniture manufacturing environment.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Record and maintain accurate financial transactions and accounting records.
Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payment vouchers, and other financial documents.
Monitor accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely reconciliation.
Reconcile bank statements and company accounts regularly.
Track company expenses, purchases, and payments and ensure proper documentation.
Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and management accounts.
Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate records of cash transactions.
Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets and expenditure.
Follow up on outstanding payments and maintain proper records of customer and vendor accounts.
Review financial documents and transactions for accuracy and completeness.
Maintain organised and up-to-date financial files and documentation.
Assist with payroll-related accounting activities where required.
Liaise with vendors, clients, banks, and other stakeholders regarding financial transactions.
Ensure compliance with company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Provide financial information and reports to Management as required.
Support audit activities by providing relevant financial records and documentation.
Identify discrepancies and escalate financial issues to the appropriate authority.
Carry out other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by Management.
Experience & Qualifications
B.Sc. / HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
3 - 5 years of relevant accounting experience.
Professional accounting certification such as ICAN / ACCA or ongoing qualification is an added advantage.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
Good understanding of basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
