Configurer les types de congé

Careersome ships with a fixed catalog of leave types. Companies cannot invent new type names; instead, an Administrator decides which types are in use, sets the default day allocation for each, and controls which employees are eligible for which types. Configuration lives in Organization settings and is Admin-only (HR does not have this menu).

The available leave types

  • Annual Leave
  • Sick Leave
  • Personal Leave
  • Emergency Leave
  • Maternity/Paternity
  • Bereavement
  • Other

What an Admin configures

  1. Time-off policies: the default number of days allocated per leave type for the organization. These defaults seed employee balances.
  2. Default eligible leave types: the set of leave types employees are eligible for by default. Only eligible types appear to an employee when requesting leave and only eligible types show a balance.
  3. Per-employee eligibility: eligibility can also be assigned to individual employees, so different people can have different sets of applicable leave types.

Accessing configuration

  1. Sign in as Admin
  2. Go to Organization > Settings
  3. Open the time-off policy settings to view and update per-type day allocations and the default eligible types

How balances work

  • Balances are stored per employee, per year
  • When a balance is created, each eligible leave type is seeded from the configured policy allocation; non-eligible types are left at zero and hidden from the employee
  • Approving a request draws down the matching type's balance

Good practice

  • Align allocations with local labour law
  • Only enable the leave types your organization actually uses; the rest stay hidden
  • Communicate policies clearly, since employees only ever see the types they are eligible for
  • Review allocations at the start of each year
<!-- VERIFY: whether carry-over and monthly accrual rules are configurable in the UI. The balance model is a per-year day count seeded from policy allocations; no accrual-rate or carry-over configuration was found in the time-off code. Removed the prior article's accrual/carry-over claims pending product confirmation. -->
