When time off is enabled, reporting managers approve requests for their direct reports.

Receiving requests

  • Employees submit from My time off
  • You may get tasks or notifications on Dashboard
  • Open the request from the task or from Team time off in the sidebar (visible when you manage a team and the module is on)

Reviewing

  1. Open Team time off (or the linked approval screen)
  2. Check employee, leave type, dates, balance, and comments
  3. Watch for conflicts with coverage or blackout periods

Approve or reject

  • Approve updates balances and notifies the employee
  • Reject should include a short reason; the history stays auditable

At scale

  • Use filters for date range, employee, or status
  • Batch actions when the UI offers them

Practices

  • Respond within your company's SLA
  • Balance fairness with operational coverage
  • If Team time off is missing, confirm you are listed as the employee's manager and that time off is entitled for your tenant
