Company-wide offboarding is included on Professional (and Enterprise) full-suite agreements.

Offboarding templates standardize exits with structured checklists.

Creating a template

  1. Navigate to Offboarding > Templates
  2. Click Create template
  3. Enter template details:
    • Name: Template name (e.g., "Standard Offboarding", "Executive Offboarding")
    • Description: What this template covers
    • Category: Template category for organization

Adding Tasks For each task, specify:

  • Title: Task name (e.g., "Return Laptop", "Revoke System Access", "Upload Exit Documents")
  • Description: Detailed instructions
  • Owner: Who completes it (Employee, Manager, HR, IT, or Admin)
  • Task Type: Regular task or Document Upload (automatically renders file input in employee interface)
  • Due Offset: Days from offboarding start
  • Link: External URL if needed
  • Sort Order: Order in which tasks appear

Task Types

  • Employee Tasks: Completed by the departing employee (document uploads, equipment return)
  • Manager Tasks: Completed by the manager (knowledge transfer coordination, final reviews)
  • HR Tasks: Completed by HR (documentation, final paperwork)
  • IT Tasks: Completed by IT (access revocation, system cleanup)
  • Admin Tasks: System or administrative tasks
  • Document Upload Tasks: Special task type that automatically renders file upload inputs. Useful for collecting termination letters, NDAs, tax forms, and other required documents.

Template Management

  • Clone Templates: Duplicate existing templates to create variations
  • Edit Templates: Update tasks, descriptions, or timing
  • Activate/Deactivate: Control which templates are available
  • View Usage: See how many employees have used each template
  • Bulk Assignment: Assign templates to multiple employees at once

Best Practices

  • Create role-specific templates (e.g., Executive, Developer, Sales)
  • Include a mix of tasks across different owners (Employee, HR, IT, Manager)
  • Use document upload tasks for required documents (termination letters, NDAs, tax forms)
  • Set realistic due dates based on task complexity
  • Ensure security tasks (access revocation) are prioritized
  • Test templates before assigning to ensure completeness
