Job Details
We are looking for an astute, detail-oriented, thorough and organized Procurement Associate to oversee purchasing activities and develop new contracts that ensure that purchased items are both cost-efficient and of high quality. The Procurement Associate's responsibilities include maintaining positive supplier relations, evaluating supply options, approving purchases, and maintaining accurate records
To be successful as a Procurement Associate, you should have an analytical mind and keep up with product and service trends. Ultimately, a top Procurement Officer should be able to negotiate well and ensure that all purchases comply with company standards.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement procurement strategies that are innovative, cost-effective, and incorporate the growing complexities and challenges within industry
- Build long-term relationships with suppliers and farmers
- Compare proposals for price and specifications
- Review contract specifications on behalf of the company
- Communicate with farmers to ensure that the product arrives in a timely fashion
- Manage technological systems that track the shipment, inventory and supply of produce
- Lead transformational activities to build procurement organizational capabilities and improve procurement efficiency
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly procurement reports
- Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental rules and regulations
- Keep abreast of changing industry trends and prices
REQUIREMENTS
- Solid knowledge and understanding of procurement processes, policy, and systems
- Degree in Purchasing and Supply or any related field
- Minimum experience as a procurement officer or related position
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel)
- •Ability to analyze problems and strategize for better solutions
- Ability to negotiate, establish, and administer contracts • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Accurate and precise attention to detail
- Goal-oriented, organized team player
