One Precious Life (OPL) Academy - Our Client is an M&E company looking to hire an entry-level mechanical engineer to join their team. The Mechanical Engineer will start as a trainee and will take on more responsibilities over time.

Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will:

• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports
• Assist the project engineer in developing work break down structures
• Assist the project engineer in preparing workshop and as build drawings
• Assist the project engineer in ensuring that projects are completed according to drawing specifications
• Assist the project engineer in implementing operating procedures, resolving system malfunctions, and providing technical information
• Provide feedback to project engineers on problems and needs onsite
• Follow company guidelines for environmental sustainability practices and maintain the company’s reputation by complying with regulations
• Attend and participate in company training sessions and department staff meetings
• Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Requirement

• Minimum of HND upper credit or BSc Second Class Lower
• 1-3 years of professional experience or minimum of 1-year relevant work experience post-NYSC
• Must be computer literate
• Must be competent in AutoCAD (Basic)
• Must be able to read and interpret drawings
• Must be able to work autonomously/independently
• Experience in building services is a plus (mechanical design or installation in buildings e.g. Plumbing / Pipe services, Fire-fighting installations, HVAC, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail
