    We accomplish this by franchising thousands of farmer cooperatives across Nigeria, dramatically increasing the profitability of the smallholder members 2.5 times above the national average. This dramatic increase in net income is accomplished by delivering an integrated holistic package of training, farm inputs and marketing services, on credit. Babban Gona has been able to deliver this credit while maintaining one of the highest repayment rates in the world, currently above 99%, leveraging our comprehensive 8 levels of risk mitigation. We developed the model with our partners that include His Highness Muhammad Sanusi II, the Sarkin (Emir) Kano, Nestle, IITA, DfID, USAID, GIZ, AGRA, BMGF, Skoll, Kiva, FMCB, Mulago, GIF and Rockefeller Foundation amongst others.

    We are recruiting to fill the position of:

    Role Purpose

    • You will play a key role in the implementation of an evolving learning strategy to support the growth of our technology division but also build the digital literacy and capabilities of our employees.
    • You will elevate the quality and effectiveness of training programs that support the deployment of in-house apps and technology to our staff and will work closely with the Product Management and Product support teams to ensure their smooth and timely delivery to end-users.
    • As part of the Learning and Development team you will contribute to initiatives that strengthen digital literacy and IT skills amongst staff and improve the adoption and use of technology for operations, training delivery and management.
    • You will lead the development and delivery of a tailored program of learning that will strategically scale the capabilities of our software engineering, product management and business intelligence teams as they rapidly expand to address new areas of business.

    Key Responsibilities
    Building Digital Literacy and Adoption of Technology:

    • Work with the L&D team to develop strategies to build confidence in the use of technology amongst our staff and support greater adoption of standardised tools and systems for managing work.
    • Support the improved and creative use of technologies to optimise training delivery and management, particularly for field-based staff.

    Build and deploy a specialised Technology Learning Program:

    • Work with the Head, Impact, Knowledge and Learning to scope and develop a learning program that will cultivate the talent within the growing technology division.
    • Identify the learning needs and competencies required to scale capabilities within the team to address new areas of business.
    • Support the development of curricula, learning paths and training material that will support performance improvement and career development for technology staff.
    • Lead the implementation and ongoing management of the learning programs.

    Facilitate Training:

    • Facilitate relevant “in-house” technical training sessions, both online and face to face.
    • Develop the capacity of other trainers within key teams to support core training programs.

    Requirements

    • Degree in a relevant Technical field.
    • 2-5 years’ experience of working in an L&D (Tech) role٫ Training Manager, Education or other relevant position.
    • Experience in Learning and Development Role

    Selection Criteria:

    • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects, support strategy implementation and associated plans.
    • Previous experience in the creation and delivery of learning packages based on adult learning principles, including in instructional design.
    • Experience with the use and/or development of technology to support learning, including practical experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
    • Experience with training and assessment, training management and facilitation.
    • Proven ability to collaborate and consult to obtain relevant information from subject matter experts.
    • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Demonstrated ability.
    • Ability to demonstrate excellent time management, attention to detail and prioritising skills.
    • Ability to supervise and build the capacity of young teams.
    • A strong willingness to learn and be a team player.

    Demonstrated Ability:

    Desirable Experience:

    • Proven experience as a technical trainer.
    • Knowledge of modern training techniques and tools in technical subjects.
    • Experience delivering remote training to employees that are geographically dispersed.
    • Experience delivering learning in areas with access to limited technology and internet connectivity.
    • Experience delivering training and learning to people with limited literacy.
    • Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation practices for learning.
