About the Role

The role of intern at Dá Design Studio is a very flexible, diverse and adventurous role. It involves inventiveness, learning high-level problem solving, building your philosophical approach to design, improving your skill set, learning to function and work optimally in fast-paced design-centric environments. The role involves working closely with designers and the Creative Director at the studio to produce graphic design as well as develop your individual creativity. One moment you may be designing graphics for our social media and the next, structuring and uploading a case study to our website or taking photos at a busy market for design research.

What you will be doing

• User Interface design for our website.
• Image editing for our website and social media.
• Basic design research and information gathering.
• Planning and conceptualising by studying information, material and briefs.
• Creating visual concepts & devices by hand or using computer software.
• Obtaining approval of concepts.
• Coordinating with outside agencies, printers, etc.
• Contributing to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Articulating design decisions to other team members.

Requirements

• At least three months work experience or previous internship outside of freelancing.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Figma.
• Good layout and composition Skills.
• Good typographic skills.
• Strong design consciousness.
• Passion for design.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Ability to conceptualise and ideate fairly quickly, at the least.
• Creative & flexible approach to work.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Deadline-oriented mindset.
• Rudimentary understanding of how to create effective brand communication, at the least.
• Ability to handle rejection and critique well.

Extras(not compulsory but could be of advantage)

• Proficiency in Adobe After Effects.
• Familiar with Semplice.
• Experience with social media marketing and photography.
• Has a good design library or design resource archive.
• Formal design/design-related training.
