    A real estate agent is a person whose occupation is to arrange real estate transactions such as the selling or renting of houses, buildings or land. Real estate agents arrange real estate transactions and help their clients make successful sales, rents, or purchasing deals.

    A real estate agent should be trustworthy, friendly, helpful, and good at marketing, negotiating, planning and organizing. They should be able to respond to their clients on time, maintain good communication with them, pay attention to their needs, and put their interests first.

    Real estate agents may do some or all of the following:

    • assess buyers needs and find properties that suits them
    • discuss with clients about their property and conditions of sale
    • research and estimate the value of properties

    • arrange legal agreement between sellers and buyers

    Real estate agents may work long or irregular hours including evenings and weekends to accommodate clients’ schedules. They work indoors in offices and outside surveying properties for sale. They may travel to see properties for sale and to meet with prospective clients.

    To become a real estate agent, you need to have at least a secondary school education. Employers may prefer to hire candidates with higher qualifications. In most parts of the world, real estate agents do require licensing to practice.
