A good way to find a job or internship in Nigeria is through networking. And LinkedIn is a very powerful tool that you can use to network.

In case you are wondering what LinkedIn is, LinkedIn is a social networking site designed specifically for business and professional networking.

In this article, I’m going to discuss how to use LinkedIn to generate leads for your internship or job search.

Using LinkedIn to Generate Leads for Internship or Job Search:
So what you need to do is to use LinkedIn to search for companies that hire interns in your field and compile a list.
It’s pretty simple to do and this is how it’s done:
1. use LinkedIn’s built-in search function to search for terms like “web developer intern Lagos” or “mechanical engineering intern Abuja”. And you will find the profiles of hundreds of people that have worked as or are working as a web developer intern in Lagos or a mechanical engineering intern in Abuja.
2. Check these profiles to find out the companies or businesses where these people interned or are currently interning in and make a list.
3. Now that you know companies/businesses around you that offer internship programs, the next thing to do will be to contact them to inquire about interning with them. So you write a brilliant internship inquiry letter, detailing and explaining what you can offer in simple terms, and email it to them, along with your CV and other relevant documents.

I believe at least of one of the companies will consider your application and offer you a job or internship if you can convince them in your application you have something to offer.

Good Luck!
