Onwards Technologies, a talent consulting company, is recruiting to fill the position of Software Developer in Lagos.

Job Description

• Engage in all phases of the software development life cycle which include: gathering and analyzing user/business system requirements, responding to outages and creating application system models.
• Participate in design meetings and consult with clients to refine, test and debug programs to meet business needs and interact and direct third party partners in the achievement of business and technology initiatives.

• Develop and implement new software programs
• Maintain and improve the performance of existing software
• Clearly and regularly communicate with management and technical support colleagues
• Design and update software database
• Test and maintain software products to ensure strong functionality and optimization
• Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary

• B.Sc/BA in Computer Science or a related field
• Proven competence as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
• Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
• Knowledge of coding languages (e.g. C++, Java, JavaScript) and frameworks/systems
• Experience with databases and Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)
• Ability to learn new languages and technologies
• Excellent communication skills
• Resourcefulness and troubleshooting attitude
