Responsibilities will include developing social campaigns, optimizing The Republic’s web content for social media, and building and engaging with The Republic’s audience across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Our social media accounts not only are the face of our brand, but also play an integral role in how we intend to grow. Our ideal candidate is an organized multi-tasker who can manage content schedules across several social media channels. He or she:
⎈ is younger than 25;
⎈ has an undergraduate degree;
⎈ is a sharp, analytical writer (editorial experience is a plus);
⎈ thrives in a fast-paced environment;
⎈ has demonstrable online and offline networking skills;
⎈ is able to work remotely and independently while part of a team; and
possesses excellent communication skills.An understanding and passion for social video, history and historical images/archives, politics, broader African affairs and aesthetics, is a must. Familiarity with design and Adobe creative programs is a plus.

This internship position is paid and open only to candidates based in Lagos. The internship starts as soon as possible, and will run for six months with potential to be extended. Interns are encouraged to work part-time (20 hours a week).
