A cleaner is a person whose occupation is cleaning. Cleaners usually work with their hands, using a variety of cleaning techniques, chemicals and equipment to clean private homes, medical facilities, schools, Airports, or factories.

A cleaner should be patient, diligent, flexible, trustworthy, helpful and loyal, and have the ability to carefully follow instructions. They should be able to stand or bend for long periods and work with their hands to manipulate, lift and carry heavy objects.

Some cleaners work during the day such as those who clean schools and hospitals while others may work irregular hours including early mornings, evenings and weekends, and may be on call.
