Aesthetician Job Description

An aesthetician is a person who performs beauty treatments to manage nonmedical skin conditions. The beauty treatments aestheticians perform include pore cleansing and exfoliation, foot reflexology, waxing and hair removal, body wraps and polishing, aromatherapy, facials, depilation, eyebrow shaping and lash tinting.

An aesthetician should be honest, level-headed, assertive, friendly and helpful to make their clients feel relaxed and stay comfortable while they work. They should also be able to listen and relate to their clients, and good at persuading and giving advice.

Working Conditions

Aestheticians usually work normal office hours, but may also work evenings and weekends. They work in beauty salons and spas. They may travel to meet clients or to attend seminars or conferences.
